I recently won an international art competion hosted by ibooks, Inc. and 3D World magazine. I couldn't be happier for this bit of recognition and I hope to use the momentum to create more pure fantasy/scifi pieces of work.
Was Tyrannosaurus Rex a Tyrant Lizard or Lord of the Flies? Recent research makes this infamous dinosaur into a 30 foot garbage truck, walking long distances to crunch the many large carcasses that dotted the Cretaceous landscape. It is also likely that he at some time was covered in feathery filaments. Just because he may have been a stinky, nightmarish big bird, does not make him any less scarey!
This is an eveing in the late Carboniferous era, where Arthropleura, a 9ft millipede of sorts might skitter by. With some help from paleogeologist, Carey Easterday, I created the book, "GIANT BUGS WERE REAL!" published by Seedling Publications.
We've all heard of the ancient dragonfly, Meganeura, with the huge wingspan. But what about its nymph stage? This illustration along with the bottom one and the T-rex are part of my someday book about Giant Arthropods. Dr. Simon J. Braddy has participated in the production of these images and is considering authoring much of the text.
Bothriolepis V.S. Mixopteracea, or a plated fish getting eviscerated by the top arthropod predator of the late Devonian Era.
