This is a compendium of illustration by Ryan Durney.

There are two portfolios to browse. "Children's Portfolio" displays work for picture books and educational projects. "Editorial Portfolio" shows work for mature markets such as magazines, books and fantasy or science fiction projects.

To those willing to take the time to look at what I've created, I owe gratitude. Time is the one true currency!

I am very pleased to announce my new project, "The Silver Seed of Tirn Aill." It's a young-adult, whimsical and immaginative fantasy epic written by William L. Musgrove. There are three books planned currently and they will be illustrated to the nines with my best imagery. Stay tuned for updates and catch some samples here:
A sample chapter of my illustrated version of "Alice In Wonderland" is ready to be viewed by interested publishers. Nearly 8 years of work! Supposedly, in 2010 there will be a new theatrical version of Alice by Tim Burton. Can you find Lewis Carroll in this scene?
Michael Vescovo commissioned me to do a complete set of astrology art pieces in a children's style. He will have custom, fanciful birth certificates for sale at his site in the near future, check the AstroBabyGift site:
Want to make sense of high finance? "Markets Media Magazine" has intelligent answers and has featured my cover artwork on 5 issues.
Titania Roberson has commissioned me to create art for a series of children's puzzles. I am unsure when and where it will be published at this time.

This image is from an upcoming series of personal work. Much to my surprise, it has earned several accollades. First, it won an international art competion hosted by ibooks, Inc. and 3D World magazine. Second, it placed first at the High Roads Gallery's Digital Salon I. "Real-Life Sea Monsters" published by Lerner Publications, It was illustrated by me and written by Judith Jango-Cohen. To be released summer '07. It appears to have sold out in hardback but paperback is still for sale a number of places.
My illustrations for the upcoming children's book, "Annabelle's Yoga" are complete. Its release date is still TBA at the moment. It was written by C. Ingram White.
Award-winning poet and author, Michael Sandven and I put our heads together for an entire year to bring his poem, "The Cold" into full color life on the page. You can buy the book here!:

ODYSSEY magazine is quirky, fun, and most of all full of interesting science facts. It also features one fictional story per issue which I have illustrated a good many of.
Valhalla Productions is a good friend and client. They offer nicely produced old school role-playing entertainment that is anything but ordinary.
Seedling Publications and I have a long history together. There are more than 25 early literacy books there that were illustrated by me and some that I authored. My favorites are "Snap and Trap Plants," and "Giant Bugs Were Real." I also like "The Little Rabbit Who Wanted Red Wings" which was written by Betty Erickson. Some of the animal books that I illustrated were written by Author/Teacher and Speaker Dr. John Becker.
I was featured in Dark Realms Magazine, issue 5.
I am in two Illustration directories. "Picturebook 05" or your "American Showcase 28." I believe in "Picturebook" I am on page 256. Is anyone really using these anymore? Please write and let me know how you find your illustrators.
